The chasen is designed to be stored with prongs open and air flowing freely around them. Stored flat or cramped, the prongs bend and break faster. A holder doubles a good chasen's lifespan.
Borosilicate glass — the same as the bowl. Easy to clean, does not absorb smells or moisture, sits stable on any surface without sliding.
Drop the chasen prong-side down onto the rounded dome. The prongs splay naturally around the shape and hold their form as they dry. Leave it there between every use.
